Russell Counseling offers comprehensive counseling to children,
s, couples, and families. Fully, licensed and certified, we
specialize in the assessment and treatment of depression,
anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, childhood attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder (A.D.H.D. & A.D.D.),
childhood defiance, and behavioral problems, as well as
parenting issues, family problems, and marital discord.
Our
counseling is based on the belief that present day
thoughts, feelings, and interactions are greatly influenced by
the interactions of our youth. We seek to forge an awareness of
the beliefs and relationship styles that our clients were taught
and that they observed throughout their upbringings. Once this
awareness has been achieved, we help our clients to recognize
how these handed down lessons continue to perpetuate their
distress, undermine their contentment, and prevent their ability
to forge the relationships they desire. We then assist our
clients in replacing handed down beliefs and relationship styles
with ones that allow for wants to be achieved and needs to be
met. This process allows for a client return to the feelings of
confidence, happiness, and contentment with which they were born
and for newfound ability to connect with those that they love.
Our
child counseling is based on creating a parenting style that
will allow for empowerment in regulating a child’s behavior.
In addition, we process the child’s emotions and thoughts
through a combination of talk, play, and art therapy. We
encourage all family members to attend family counseling
sessions so that family interaction styles can be assessed and
modified when needed. We further provide parental and behavioral
counseling to address the unique needs of children and families
dealing with A.D.H.D. & A.D.D.
At
Anthony Russell Counseling, we are committed to providing
counseling that is based on the unique needs and goals of our
clients. We listen until we understand and only then do we
recommend interventions that will allow our clients to address
their concerns and meet their goals. It is an approach that we
have found to be invaluable in our work, it is an approach that
