Menu Homepage Welcome message Commission Composition The 1997 Law Legislation Research Publications News - Conferences - Speeches Reports - Acts International Organizations Downloads Links Contact Welcome message by the president of the Cyprus Mental Health Commission The 1997 Mental Health Law and the amendments that followed created the momentum for further progress in the psychiatric reform, deinstitutionalization and establishment of Community Psychiatry. The rights of the mental patients are now satisfied to a greater extend and minimum standards during their hospitalization are met. The appointment by the government of the Cyprus Mental Health Commission helped in the implementation of the principles of this Law and brought more progress to the whole effort. The creation of this website will hopefully develop further the communication of all interested people with everything that is related to Mental Health and answer all the relevant questions that arise in everyday practice. I welcome you to this easy to use website which I hope it will be a useful and informative instrument.
